Include your Saltpaper version and build from Settings, your iPhone model, iOS version, and what you were trying to do. For an import problem, include the public recipe link if you’re comfortable sharing it. Screenshots help, but cover private notes and names first. Never send keys or service tokens.
Start with the Saltpaper guide.
In the app, open the Cookbook plus menu, choose Settings, then Saltpaper guide. Search for help with imports, scans, versions, notes, shopping, cooking, Activity and backups.
A recipe won’t import
Some websites block automated importing or don’t expose recipe information in a readable format. Try the public recipe URL rather than a search or social link. You can also scan a printed page or photo, or enter the recipe manually. Check fractions, quantities and directions before saving.
A request is still working
Open Activity to check progress or a saved result. An accepted service request can continue after you close the app; Saltpaper checks for the result when you return. If a request fails, use its explicit retry action. A missing notification does not mean the result is missing, so check Activity.
Keep a separate cookbook backup
In Settings, choose Create a cookbook backup, then Save or share backup and Save to Files. Choose a separate location, such as iCloud Drive. Each export covers the cookbook you have open, so back up other household cookbooks separately.
Restoring a backup replaces the open cookbook’s contents. Save a current backup first. If you’re moving from TestFlight to the App Store version, keep a separate backup and install the public app over the existing installation. Avoid uninstalling the beta first.
Cook offline
Your saved recipes, notes, meal plan, pantry, shopping list and cooking tools work offline. Website imports, recipe assistance and iCloud need a connection. If a remote recipe image hasn’t been cached yet, it may need a connection to appear.
Privacy and service-data requests
See our privacy policy for the data each feature uses. To ask about access or removal, email dev@getsaltpaper.app. Include a request identifier from Activity if available, but never a service credential.
Safety in the kitchen
Review imported text and suggested changes before cooking. Saltpaper does not verify allergens, food safety or nutritional accuracy. If an allergy or health requirement matters, check the original ingredients, packaging and appropriate professional guidance.
